Through play children learn to take risks, explore, experiment and learn about the world around them. We believe in real-world learning that is underpinned by children’s natural inquiry. Starting with what children are curious about, what they wonder about and what they think about allows us as a  teaching team to wrap the curriculum around learning in meaningful ways. The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) defines seven Quality Areas under the National Quality Standard (NQS) to ensure high standards of education and care in early childhood services.

This intentional approach shapes everything we do at Wantirna South Early Learning Centre, creating a nurturing environment where every child is supported to thrive. She holds a Master of Teaching (Early Years) from the University of Melbourne and is committed to fostering high-quality, engaging learning environments. Our much loved pets are greeted daily by the children and their families and on most occasions, they are also farewelled as the children leave for the day. Early Childhood Teachers deliver both our 3 and 4 year old Funded Kinder programs.
Educators support toddlers to express their ideas, make choices and develop confidence in their abilities. We look forward to welcoming your family to our Wantirna early education centre. We are committed to sustainability and deeply respect the natural environment. These values are woven into our daily teaching practices, helping children learn how to care for the world around them. We believe in a wide and varied program that requires specialised skills and as such we include the following additional programs for children throughout the week. These include but are not limited to cooking classes, art classes in our Atelier and a tailored community engagement program. We approach all our work with people with respect, ethics, integrity and empathy.

From infancy, our educators work in partnership with families to support each child’s individual learning journey. We enrich our Kindergarten programs with a range of engaging, hands-on experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and real-world skills. Our team of dedicated educators and qualified specialists deliver each of these experiences as an integral part of our curriculum.
When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

This allows our families the flexibility of a long day  care setting in these essential programs.. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Kinder Haven is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all  children. Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident. To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team.
Our team of educators is wholeheartedly devoted to creating an educational, fun, and safe environment where children can thrive, preparing them  not only for school but for life beyond. At Wantirna, we live by the mantra, “Time spent playing with children is never wasted” – Dawn Lantero. Individual Learning Plans are developed in partnership with families and used to guide learning around each child’s strengths, interests and goals. Educators draw on these plans to shape experiences that suit each child’s needs and stage of development.
