We value and support our collaborative relationships within our wider community. We view all children as capable, and holistic learning supports the whole child. Children have agency and actively participate in decisions affecting their learning. Families are the child’s first teachers, and we draw upon their knowledge and experience surrounding the child’s prior and ongoing learning from their home setting. Greensborough Preschool is a creative and rich child-based environment that encourages active learning through play. Every child is unique, and the most powerful way children learn is through play.
We offer a government-approved kindergarten program that supports early literacy, STEM discovery and social development, helping children prepare for a smooth transition to school. Many of our kindergarten children go on to attend nearby schools such as Greensborough Primary School, St Mary’s Primary School and Greensborough College, and we work closely with families to support this important early learning centre greensborough next step. They offer programs based on the development and interests of every child as well as the culture and values of their families. With each centre operated by Council directly, we are committed to the safety and protection of children from abuse.
Our son has attended St Helena Early Learning for over a year, starting in the nursery and now in the toddler room, and we couldn’t be happier. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in the children’s wellbeing. There’s very low staff turnover, which has helped our son feel safe and supported throughout his time there. The play spaces are fantastic—including a garden and chickens—which make for a fun and engaging environment. The food is fresh and nutritious, and we love receiving regular updates and daily photos through Storypark.
It is a place where children have the time and opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. All the staff at this centre are extremely friendly and helpful. The facility may not be the best, but overall it’s good enough. My child runs to the centre every day, and I can clearly tell that she really enjoys being there.
The Victorian Government offers funding to provide families up to 15 hours of Free Kindergarten a week, in addition to the Childcare Subsidy. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of the centre's long day care Kindergarten program. Families will save up to $2,101 a year for children aged three-years-old and above in eligible long day cares. Pick up time is another opportunity for children of different ages to spend time together and enjoy age-appropriate learning experiences. It’s also when you’ll be able to speak to our qualified early childhood teachers and educators who will share information about your child’s learning, special moments, and how their day was overall.
Supporting active healthy bodies with a play in the park by our nursery children. Lots of big body movements and exploring of the natural surroundings. The kinder children have been discussing what foods fuel their bodies, what foods are everyday foods and those that are sometimes foods. They visited the local Rosanna Woolworths to find some of these foods and buy some groceries.
We've answered the most common ones, from meals and opening hours to fees, tours and what to bring on your first day. Educators guide children as they explore new ideas, practice independence and build language, social and self-help skills through fun, hands-on experiencs every day. Our children have been attending St Helena Early Learning for over 3 years and it is such a wonderful service. All the Educators are kind and caring individuals and my children love going each time.
Milestones Early Learning provides early education and care for children aged 0–5 years in safe, purpose-built centres where children can learn, grow, and thrive. We are proud to offer a number of unique programs that families value, including our Auslan Academy, led by an Auslan-speaking educator, where children are introduced to sign language as part of everyday communication. Our kindergarten children also enjoy weekly Mandarin lessons, and we participate in the Be Brave, Be Safe program to support children’s safety, confidence and wellbeing. It is a trusted place where we fully feel that our daughter is in good hands.
We pay our respects to the longest living culture and their Elders past, present and emerging. Afternoon tea is a time for children to come together in small groups and fosters a sense of belonging. Your baby’s lunch times will suit their needs, and with our open-door policy, families are welcome to enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby. When your baby is ready, they are gently settled for sleep and rest. Join a team of passionate educators who make a difference every day.
Our School Readiness program combines play-based learning with structured, government-approved kindergarten or preschool sessions led by qualified early childhood teachers.
